Japan Kurihara Premium Sencha Hime Midori 100 gram

The Premium Sencha Hime Midori is a naturally grown first flush spring Sencha tea from the award-winning Kurihara Tea Farm in Yame in Fukuoka prefecture.  

This is the 2025 first flush spring harvest, processed in autumn 2025.  Since we have now have the new 2026 spring teas in stock we lowered the price for this great tea as long as stock last.  A great tea at a great price!

The taste is rich with a good umami and very little bitternes if brewed at 70-75 degrees Celcius.

This is a high quality Sencha that in Japan would be served for guests or brewed at special occations.

Kurihara Tea Farm

Since we opened our online teahouse we have offered a selection of high quality teas from Kurihara Tea Farm.  It is a family owned tea farm in Yame, Fukuoka Prefecture in the southern part of Japan.  The tea fields are located in 300-700 meters height and cover 3 hectares.  The farm is managed by the Kurihara brothers Akio & Yuji and their Gyokuro teas are often in the top 5 in regional and national tea competions.

Cultivar:  Hime Midori 姫緑 (translates to:  Princess Green)
