Description
Wonderful umami-rich first flush spring 2026 harvest Kabusecha from Sueyoshi Tea Atelier from Kagoshima in southern Japan.
The tea is deep steamed (Fukamushi) which gives it a smooth and slightly sweet and creamy umami-rich flavor. This is the first year we have this tea in stock and we already love it.
The tea is based on the Okumidori cultivar which is known for its smooth character, slight sweetnesss and rich umami. It is often used for high-quality Matcha because of its smooth character, low astringency and flavor profile.
Kabusecha is shaded for 10-14 days before harvest, allowing the tea leaves to mature without getting the slight bitterness that the unshaded Sencha teas can have.
